The tax position diagnostic
Four numbers you should have had in June.
A fixed-fee review of where your business and your personal return actually stand — and what's still moveable before December.
$1,250, credited in full against your first engagement. You send four documents; two weeks later you get a written finding and a 45-minute call to walk it.
What you send
Four documents. Nothing you don't already have.
Last year's entity return and personal return
Year-to-date profit and loss and balance sheet
Payroll summary through today
Estimates paid, federal and state
What you get, in writing.
01 — Reasonable compensation
Your salary, and what backs it.
What you're paying yourself against a defensible range for your role, industry, and revenue — and the exposure in whichever direction you're off. Documented, so it holds up if it's ever questioned.
02 — Projected tax
Both levels, distributions included.
The entity and you personally, with the cash you've actually taken out accounted for rather than ignored.
03 — Underpayment exposure
What you owe today.
What's due if nothing changes, what the penalty runs, and whether a safe harbor is still reachable this year.
04 — What's still moveable
And the date each one closes.
Retirement plan design, equipment timing, compensation adjustments, entity-level elections — with the dollar effect of each, and the deadline past which it stops being available.
Then a conversation
Forty-five minutes with Mike to walk the finding — what it means, and what you'd actually do about it.
What it isn't.
Not a return. Not an audit of your prior preparer. Not a sales call with a report attached — the finding is the deliverable, and it's yours whether or not you engage us for anything else.
If what it finds is that your current setup is working, we'll say so. That's a useful answer too, and it's the one you paid for.
What usually happens next.
Most owners who run the diagnostic find that the problem isn't March — it's that nobody has been watching the numbers between filings. If that's the conclusion, the monthly engagement is the answer, and the $1,250 comes off the first invoice.
If your books are clean and you only needed the returns filed well, the annual packages cover that instead. We'll tell you which one you are.
